As another year passes I find it amazing how rapidly time goes by. It was just earlier this year I was walking the campus of Redondo High, hanging with friends that I have known for years, and walking across the field in my cap and gown. Now I am already starting my second quarter of college at UCR.
As the new year approaches everyone is setting their resolutions and looking forward to what may come in 2009. Although it is important to set goals and be optimistic about the future I believe it is also important to remember and cherish all of the good memories that got you up to the point where you are now.
I look back and remember all the friends I had back in high school. The ones that always had my back, gave me good advice, and always had fun hanging out with. There are many that I do not keep in touch with but there are also some that I still talk to today. Just recently I have moved to college and met of bunch of new friends. I hope these bonds begin to grow stronger. I have memories with my family that always support me in choices that I make and help guide me when I am struggling. I picked up the guitar and have started playing for the first time this past year and it is now something I love doing. I will remember all the basketball games that my friends and I played.
There are so many things that have happened in such a small span of time that I find it hard to believe. I am thankful for all of these things. As the new year approaches rapidly I hope everyone briefly looks back at their memories from this year. I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe New Years and hopefully 2009 will be another year full of memories.
